Money matters
So what will it cost? Some courses are free. For other courses you may be able to get help with course fees, childcare and other costs; this will depend on your circumstances. Learning providers will be able to tell you about the cost of a course (if any) and about any help available.
What help is available for learning costs?
Childcare
Some courses and other learning opportunities run crèches or other childcare provision while you learn. Ask the providers of the learning you are interested in for details.
If your provider doesn't run childcare provision for learners, and you need to find a place for your child/children, contact Kirklees Children & Families Information Service. They have a database of all Ofsted registered childcare providers available in Kirklees, for example day nurseries, out of school clubs, holiday playschemes. They also hold information on other non-registered provision such as parent and toddler groups and play centres.
If you are the parent or carer of a child with special needs or a disability they can put you in touch with a childcare development co-ordinator who will support and advise you in finding suitable childcare.
Contact the Children & Families Information Service on 01484 223041 or email cfis@kirklees.gov.uk
